Bruins sign Pellerin to 2-year deal

BOSTON – The Boston Bruins signed center/left wing Scott Pellerin to a two-year contract Thursday.

Pellerin, 31 and a former University of Maine star, enters his 10th full pro season with his fifth NHL team since he was drafted by New Jersey in 1989.

Pellerin, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Shediac, New Brunswick, spent most of last season with Minnesota before his trade to Carolina. He led Minnesota in assists and points at the time of his trade.

His career NHL totals are 67 goals and 112 assists for 179 points and 281 penalty minutes in 423 career games.

He had an outstanding career at the Maine, where he won the Hobey Baker Award as the top player in U.S. college hockey in his senior year in 1991-92, when his team was 31-4-2.
