FRANKFORT – Wilson’s Country Market has been hit again by a burglary, the second break-in at the rural market in the past week.

Three local men were charged in connection with last week’s burglary. James Moody, 18, of Searsport was charged in connection with Tuesday’s break-in.

Moody was staying at the same place where the other three people were apprehended after last week’s break-in. Items taken during the incident were recovered and Moody was charged with burglary and theft. Beer, cigarettes and food stamps were taken, authorities said.

“I figured I’d go check the same trailer where the other guys were living,” Waldo County Deputy Sheriff Merl Reed said Thursday. “There was a connection to the earlier burglary, so why not check it out?”

The mobile home is located about a half mile from the store. Reed said he encountered Moody at the home and that after engaging him in conversation, Moody admitted committing the burglary.

Entrance was gained by cutting a screen in the store’s rear window. The break-in was discovered by a store employee when he opened for business at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Charged with last week’s burglary were Travis Quisinbury, 19, of Frankfort, Robert Ridel, 18, of Searsport and Brian Larrabee, 19, of Freedom. Beer, wine, cigarettes, and more than $500 in rolled coins were taken. Most of the cash was recovered, but a large portion of the alcohol was consumed.

That case was investigated by Deputy Ben Seekins, who found the three men asleep at the mobile home on the Marsh Stream Road. The table in front of them was covered with empty beer bottles and the coins.

That break-in also was discovered by a store employee after opening the business. Entrance in that case was gained by forcing a kitchen window.

Those accused in both breaks are scheduled to appear in Belfast District Court on Sept. 18.
