$1.5 million USDA loan to aid Maine children

WASHINGTON – The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers will receive two loans totaling $1.5 million from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to purchase and renovate the former Criminal Justice Academy in Waterville, according to U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. The new facility will be used by the home for program enhancement aimed at both children and their families.

The USDA funds are provided through a $900,000 guaranteed loan and a $600,000 direct loan.
