OLD TOWN – Emily Fournier nailed a two-run single in the top of the seventh inning to give Deering a 4-3 Senior League softball victory over Sanford in the state Little League All-Star tourney Monday.

Deering eliminated Sanford and advanced to today’s 5 p.m. championship game against Old Town. Deering has to beat undefeated Old Town twice to claim the title in the double-elimination tourney.

Theresa McGovern hit an RBI single and Nikkie White added an RBI double for Deering.

For Sanford, Jenn Paradis had two RBIs on a single while Sabrina Sevigny hit a single and scored all three runs.
