BUFFALO, N.Y. – Lindsey Snyder and Kiki O’Donnell of Bangor’s Hurricane Swim Club each made it to the evening finals of at least one event during this weekend’s Speedo Championship Series Eastern Zone Section I meet. The top 24 finishers in the preliminary heats returned for the finals.

O’Donnell, 15, was 21st overall in the 200-meter breaststroke final with a time of 2:50.58 and was 24th in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:21.10 finish. Snyder, 15, earned 22nd place in the 100 backstroke (2:29.83).

Hurricanes’ Pat Rice and Andy Magiera competed in the men’s meet but neither made it to the finals. Rice, 20, was 26th in the 400 Individual Medley and 32nd in the 800 freestyle while Magiera, 18, finished in 35th place in the 800 free and 41st in the 200 free.

The Maine Summer Combined Championships, featuring almost all of the YMCA, YWCA and club teams in Maine, begin Aug. 3 at the University of Maine in Orono.
