OLD TOWN – Mary Wollstadt pitched a two-hit shutout, allowing no walks and striking out four, to lead Old Town to a 9-0 victory over Deering of Portland and their second straight Senior League Softball state championship.
Jill Ouellette had two RBIs on a single and a triple for the team of 15- and 16-year-olds, while Erin Sherman pounded out three singles and had an RBI. Renee Thibodeau contributed a single and a triple, while Sarah Jones, Krystal Cyr, and Alissa Dow each added two singles.
For Deering, Theresa McGovern and Jen Waterman each had a single.
