FARMINGTON – A Farmington-area man who pleaded guilty to killing a 68-year-old Wilton man has been ordered to spend 20 years in prison. Dale Holloway, 38, was charged in the slaying of Albert “Sonny” Parker Jr. during the 1998 ice storm.

Under a plea agreement, Holloway was sentenced to spend 35 years in prison with all but 20 suspended. He also will serve six years of probation.

The agreement reduced the original charge of murder to manslaughter.

Parker was killed Jan. 13, 1998, with his own hunting rifle at his Village View home.
