LUBEC – Antiques, cats, and food will be some of the items for sale during the Lubec Landmarks Bazaar on Aug. 25.
The event, which organizer Lois Johnson describes as “a really bizarre bazaar,” will take place at Lubec Landmarks’ Muholland Market on Water Street.
Frank Van Riper’s McCurdy Smokehouse photographs will grace the market, Johnson said.
In addition to Johnson’s cats, the bazaar will feature family furnishings from the Pike and Mahlman homesteads.
The two Lubec families have recently resettled their old homes, and family members will be on hand to discuss the history of the pieces they’ve donated for the fund-raiser, Johnson said.
Charles Legris will provide rowing trips around the Lubec Narrows in his Grand Banks dory, the same dory that Angus Newman used 75 years ago to cross the Narrows to his job at a Lubec fish factory, Johnson said.
Organizations and individuals who would like to rent space to sell their crafts, foods or “other stuff” should call Johnson at 733-4314.
