LEE – Local firefighters were quick to extinguish a fire Saturday in a slash pile at the Yates Lumber Sawmill.

Lee Fire Chief Jay Crocker said Sunday that the 1 p.m. fire did very minor damage and reportedly was started by spontaneous combustion.
