ELLSWORTH – Residents interested in local television programming will have a chance to determine how the public access cable channels can be best put to use later this month.
The city is organizing a committee to plan how it can avail itself of the local cable channels it will have access to as part of its agreement with Adelphia Cable. People interested in serving on the local access committee should attend the initial meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at City Hall.
According to city officials, this committee will help organize programs, establish protocols and assist the public. Municipal meetings, cultural, sporting and community events are among the things that may be considered for coverage.
Adelphia has provided money for the city to buy equipment or perhaps run a studio.
