WATERBURY, Conn. – Maine finished in fifth place, 19 strokes behind champion Massachusetts at the New England Junior Golf Championship at the Country Club of Waterbury Tuesday.
Massachusetts’ team of George Zolotus, Evan Hahn, Sam Chud, Tim Acquaviva, Kevin Silva, and Brendon Ray shot a combined 301 to edge runnerup Connecticut by a single stroke.
Maine’s team was led by Jesse Spiers of Bangor, who shot a 77. Other team members were Adam Smith from Kebo Valley (82), Colin Reed from Samoset Resort (83), Chris Woodward of Sanford (81), Blake Eldridge of Springbrook (80), and Jeff Bouchard of Penobscot Valley (83).
