HERMON – Kevin Colson of Frankfort fought off a challenge from Lewis Badger of Milo to win the 20-lap Little Enduro feature race at Speedway 95 Wednesday night.

Badger edged out Artie McGuire of Bucksport for second place while Cliff Knight of Frankfort finished fourth and Mike Heath of Brownville was fifth.

Colson took the lead soon after the start of the race that went through three red-flag restarts and maintained the lead until the checkered flag.

NASCAR driver Mark Martin is better at racing than sports trivia, and proved it as a celebrity panelist on ESPN’s “2minute DRILL.”

“I’m glad I don’t have to make my living by going on game shows as a contestant, or my family would probably starve to death,” said the Winston Cup ace. “I don’t know how those contestants know so much about different sports. I don’t know anything about any sport outside of racing.

“I wasn’t entirely sure how to pronounce some of the names in the second round, let alone answer questions about them.”

The show, also featuring former NBA player Kurt Rambis, relief pitcher Dennis Eckersley and Hall of Fame running back Franco Harris, is scheduled to air Oct. 1.

Dyson returns

Dyson Racing is returning to the American Le Mans Series for the GT3 Grand Prix on Sunday at Mosport International Raceway near Toronto.

James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger will co-drive the LMP 900 Prototype class car they raced this year in the 12 Hours of Sebring. They also plan to race Aug. 25 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Oct. 6 at Road Atlanta.

“It’s definitely going to be a huge undertaking to race against the factory teams,” Leitzinger said. “The team’s mission for these races is to size up the competition and the car that we have and see where we are.

“We know that the new car isn’t quite fast enough yet. We’ve done some testing, but we need real-world experience with it to see what improvements we need. We’re going into these races with our eyes wide open.”
