Ted Elliot’s letter published on August 6 was way off the mark. Why would anyone want to put a fence around the northwestern portion of this state to form a park when the one that already exists is not being utilized?
Being from Patten, I frequently visit the north entrance to Baxter Park and as yet, I have never had to wait in line. I realize that the allure of the great mountain is what draws many people to the south gate, but I would like to invite he and others to experience what is already available in the northern part of the park before trying to form a larger one.
