HERMON – Chad Ashley of Frankfort passed Hermon’s Steve Moulton on lap 27 of the 35-lap Dysart’s Sport-Four series feature to claim the victory and the three-race series championship at Speedway 95 Saturday.

Moulton was second and Gregg Markee of Bradford was third. Jjim Johnson of Stockton Springs finished in fourth place and Andy Leali of Frankfort was fifth. Markee, Leali and Moulton finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the series while Greenville’s Colin Arey was fifth.

Jackman holds off Buzzell for win

At Sebasticook Valley Karting Komplex in St. Albans on Saturday, Craig Jackman of Livermore was able to hold off Buxton’s Travis Buzzell to win the Sportsman division.

Shane Grindle of Belfast crossed the line in third while Livermore’s Scott McDaniel took fourth and Greg Ellis of Hermon finished in fifth.

Tim Cook takes win on late pass

At Oxford Plains Speedway on Saturday, the Late Model Stock division race featured no caution flags for the third straight week. Five laps into the race, a two-car spinout involving Ricky Rolfe and Mike Short allowed T.J. Brackett to take the lead, until points leader Ryan Moore of Scarborough passed him. On lap 17, an apparent tire problem caused Moore to slow and Poland Spring’s Tim Cook took advantage by passing him for the lead and eventual win.

Rolfe of Albany finished second while Don Wentworth of Bridgton took third. David Belsaw of Wilton crossed the line in fourth as Mike Edgbert of Hollis finished in fifth.

Dana Strout picks up second win

At Wiscasset Raceway on Saturday, Benton’s Dana Strout picked up his second win of the season in an eventful 35-lap Pro stock feature. It was a tough night for points leader Scott Chubbuck, who would drop out on lap 31 with mechanical problems after leading 20 laps. Bar Harbor’s John Phippen spun out as the result of fluid dropped by Chubbuck’s Chevrolet. Phippen was able to continue but did not factor in the top five. The late race caution enabled Strout to take the lead and finish there.

Jim Kaler Jr. of Newcastle took second and Oakland’s Jeff Burgess finished in third. The fourth and fifth spots went to Casey Nash of Richmond and Gary Norris Jr. of West Gardiner, respectively.

Maietta Sr. wins Late Model Pro

At Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough on Saturday, Mike Maietta Sr. of South Portland charged up the outside groove to post the Late Model Pro Series victory. The extended 45-lap event got off to a wild start with four multi-car spins and crashes in the first four laps. Once racing got underway, the event added to an already heated points battle between Maietta and David Pinkham of Buxton. Going into the night’s racing, Maietta and Pinkham were tied. A late race caution paired the frontrunners off even with only a dozen laps remaining. Maietta grabbed the lead on the green forcing Pinkham to settle for second as they raced under the yellow.

Bobby Babb of Windham picked up the third spot while Old Orchard Beach’s Bill Rodgers took fourth and Alan Tardiff of Lyman finished in fifth.

At Winterport Dragway on Saturday, Hampden’s Paul Goodness won the Pro Eliminator division with Brian Curtis of Wellington in a close second.

Third and fourth were awarded to Barney Ryan of Harmony and Hudson’s Nick Aulicino, respectively.

At Unity Raceway, pro stock points leader Matt Lee registered another win Saturday night, this time holding off Kris Huff, last week’s winner, in the 50-lap feature race.

Patrick Thibodeau claimed third place. Bub Raven was fourth and George Fernald finished in fifth place.
