LUBEC – The Easternmost Institute for the Arts will be host to two guest lecturers Aug. 27 and Aug. 30 at the Lubec Grange Hall.

At 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, M. Assunta Uffer-Marcolongo, the president of the International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers, will speak.

The Aug. 30 speaker is Marie Cosindas, a renowned portrait photographer and colorist. Cosindas’ 7 p.m. lecture is titled “The Intimate Portrait and the Landscape.”

Both events are free to the public.

The Easternmost Institute for the Arts was founded in 2000 by Denise Plouffe and Robert Haru Fisher.

Plouffe is the co-owner of the Grange in Lubec, which she and her partner, Al Rummel, have turned into a center for the performing, writing and visual arts.

Fisher has taught travel writing seminars in Key West, Fla., for the Heritage House Museum for nearly 10 years.

The Easternmost Institute for the Arts sponsors workshops throughout August at the Lubec Grange and Campobello Island.
