SKOWHEGAN – Authorities said two men were killed and a third severely injured Saturday when they were ejected after the pickup truck in which they were riding struck a utility pole.

Skowhegan police were notified that a vehicle was off Route 2 at about 2:50 a.m.

Investigators were not immediately sure which of three men had been driving.

Hospitalized with serious chest and head injuries was Chad Nason, 35, of Cornville.

The two men who died were identified by Skowhegan police as Devin Whittemore, 36, of Madison and Jamie Arch, 34, of Skowhegan.
