America East coaches have chosen Boston University to repeat as the league’s women’s soccer champion. The Terriers received eight of a possible 11 first-place votes good for 118 points, beating out Hartford, which got four first-place votes and 114 points.
Hofstra (97 points), Delaware (87) and Towson (80) rounded out the top five, followed by Northeastern (62) and Maine with 58 points. The top six teams advance to the America East Championship.
Coach Scott Atherley’s Black Bears went 5-10 overall and 1-7 in league play last season. UMaine is looking for its first trip to the AE tournament.
