BREWER – Police say they have a suspect in a reported sexual assault of a 39-year-old woman Sunday morning.

The investigation, including interviews, is continuing this week, although an investigator said Tuesday that he expects the case to be wrapped up soon.

While few details were being released pending the investigation, Detective Sgt. Perry Antone said that the incident at an unspecified Brewer motel is being considered isolated and that the woman knew her alleged attacker.

She told police that she had met him earlier Saturday.

The woman later went to St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor and hospital officials then contacted the police to investigate.
