PORTLAND – The Portland Pirates announced Wednesday that their NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals, have acquired former University of Maine star Chris Ferraro from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for future considerations.

Ferraro will be reunited with twin brother Peter Ferraro, who was signed by the Capitals as a free agent on Aug. 1.

Chris Ferraro led the Devils’ AHL affiliate, the Albany River Rats, in scoring with 24 goals and 42 assists for 66 points.

The Ferraros played for the University of Maine for a little more than a year and helped the Black Bears to the 1993 NCAA championship.
