MACHIAS – A car that was stolen at the Sullivan Recreation Center Sunday has been recovered in Machias. Deputy Michael St. Louis of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department said an employee of Maine Wild Blueberry Co. called the Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday morning to report an abandoned vehicle behind the company’s Elm Street headquarters.

St. Louis responded to the call to find a 1995 Nissan 200SX .

“Whoever took it just wanted a ride to Machias,” St. Louis said. “There was no damage to the car and the keys were in it.”
