VAN BUREN – Nicole Levesque’s unassisted goal with eight minutes remaining in the match gave the Fort Kent Warriors a 2-1 schoolgirl soccer win over Van Buren Wednesday.

Levesque managed to score when the ball free to her after a scramble in front of the Van Buren net.

Jackie Masse also scored for 2-1-1 Fort Kent while Heather Hartman made seven saves on 10 shots.

Nicole Corbin’s goal opened the scoring in the game. Danielle Gagnon stopped 11 of 20 shots for the 5-2 Crusaders.

Katahdin 1, Hodgdon 1 (2OT)

At Hodgdon, the Hawks’ Hanna McGary scored with eight minutes left as 3-2-2 Hodgdon and the 0-0-1 Cougars of Sherman Station battled to a double-overtime tie.

Lindsay Stewart stopped 11 of 13 shots for Hodgdon.

Katahdin’s goal was scored by Scarlet McAvoy while Mindy Libby turned away 10 of 12 shots.

Boys soccer

Hodgdon 2, Katahdin 0

At Hodgdon, Jeff Condon and Ryan Doecher scored goals to lead the Hawks past the Cougars.

Jimmy Griffin assisted on the Doecher goal and goalie Adam Hogan made six saves on seven shots for 3-4 Hodgdon.

Chris McNally stopped 12 of 23 shots for 0-1 Katahdin of Sherman Station.

Fort Kent 2, Van Buren 0

At Van Buren, Anthony Lamar and Ben Bouchard provided all the offense as the Warriors prevailed.

Nick Thibodeau posted the shutout, stopping 13 of 14 shots for 3-1 Fort Kent.

Sean Violette turned away seven of 10 shots for the 5-2 Crusaders.
