WISCASSET – Charlie Colby of Edgecomb cruised to his first pro stock victory Saturday at Wiscasset Raceway. Colby started from the pole and held off John Phippen of Bar Harbor to gain the win. It was the last point-scoring race of the season.
Jeff Burgess of Oakland and Dana Strout of Benton placed third and fourth, respectively.
Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset finished fifth in the feature and earned the points title. It is Chubbuck’s fifth pro stock crown in six years.

At Sebasticook Valley Karting Complex in St. Albans, hometown driver Carl Cross took the checkered flag for the win in the Sportsman division on Saturday.
Shane Grindle of Belfast took second, while Travis Buzzell of Buxton captured the third spot. Craig Jackman of Livermore finished fourth, and Greg Ellis of Hermon took fifth.

At Oxford Plains Speedway, Tim Brackett of Oxford notched his first Oxford victory of 2001 in the Pro Stock division on Saturday night.
Judd Derbyshire of Mt. Vernon earned his second top-three finish of the season as he took second, and Tommy Tompkins of Carthage took third. Glenn Josselyn of Farmington and Alan Wilson of Hebron rounded out the fourth and fifth spots respectively.

Sands holds off Maietta
At Scarborough, Jay Sands of New Hampshire garnered his first Late Model Pro Series feature win Saturday at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. Sands took an early lead but had to hold off a late charge by nine-time divisional champion Mike Maietta Sr. of South Portland.
Bobby Babb Jr. of Windham was third, followed by Jim Manchester and Bobby Gahan of Barrington, N.H.
