DOVER-FOXCROFT – Howard Kesseli, newly elected lieutenant governor of the New England District of Kiwanis, was installed in that office at the organization’s 83rd annual convention held Aug. 23-25 at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis, Mass.

A retired executive with the Boy Scouts of America, Kesseli will serve as lieutenant governor of New England Division 2 for the year 2001-2002. Kesseli will serve on the New England district board of directors and oversee clubs in the division – Dover-Foxcroft, Orono-Old Town, Dexter Sunrise, Three Rivers of Milo and Brownville and Moosehead-Greenville.

Kesseli has been a member of the Kiwanis Club for 24 years and has served as president, vice president, director and interclub committee chairman.

John Cushing, Shirley Gammon and Tom Lizotte represented the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft as delegates to the convention. The district is made up of 6,800 service-oriented community leaders from the New England states and Bermuda.

The Kiwanis has 8,600 clubs and 320,000 members in 82 countries.
