CORINTH – Renee Trafton scored three goals to power the Central Red Devils to a 5-0 high school field hockey victory over the Hermon Hawks Tuesday in the mutual opener.

Shawna Bell and Jody Harvey also scored goals while Katie Ahearn, Heather Lyford, Jenny Rollins and Sarah Speed recorded assists for Central. Cindy Dehm saved all four shots she faced.

Alayna White saved 17 of 22 shots for Hermon.

JV: Central 5-1

Dexter 4, Hampden 0

At Dexter, Kristy Veazie scored two goals and had two assists, leading 1-0 Dexter to the win.

Keriann Patterson and Melissa Doody both had goals while Karen Nelson, Courtney McCormick and Meagan Fogarty all recorded assists. Cindy Koscielny stopped three of three shots for the Tigers.

Jen Hessert made 31 saves on 38 shots for 0-1 Hampden.

JV: Dexter 4-0

Girls soccer

GSA 8, Penobscot Valley 0

At Howland, Bethany Roberts led 1-0 George Stevens Academy with three goals and an assist.

Sarah Clapp had two goals and two assists while Amy Osage scored two. Kerri Deison added a goal and an assist while Sarah Kilch made five saves on six shots.

For 0-2 Penobscot Valley, Michelle Bachelor and Kylie McGin combined for 17 saves on 27 shots.

Lee 8, Woodland 0

At Lee, Deidra Ham scored three times as the Pandas downed the Dragons.

Freshman Shelby Pickering and junior Jenny Stevens had two goals each while Melissa Hanson had a goal and an assist and Ashley Gifford chipped in with an assist for 3-0 Lee. Katie Harris made five saves on five shots.

Lauren Troiani saved 10 of 21 shots for 0-2 Woodland.

Searsport 5, Bangor Christian 0

At Bangor, Janelle Hamilton led 1-0 Searsport with three goals.

Nicole Shute and Jessica Plourde each had goals while Lura Carroll, Holly Gracie and Tara Lee Webster all had assists. Jessica Carroll stopped two of five shots.

Kendall Snow faced 38 shots and stopped 20 for 0-1 Bangor Christian.

Boys soccer

Old Town 4, Foxcroft Acad. 3

At Old Town, Kevin Emerson scored three goals and Matt Petrie added a goal and an assist for the Indians.

Shawn Kenniston and Jerremy Gifford tallied an assist apiece for 1-1 Old Town. Tyler Tracewski made 11 saves on 16 shots.

Corey Ray scored twice for the 0-1 Ponies. Josh Chase added a goal and Ryan Edgerly had an assist. Matt Hackett made eight saves on 23 shots.

Penquis 7, Central 2

At Milo, Ben Knapp led Penquis with three goals and an assist.

Steve Kissell scored two goals while Colby Chase and Jordan Allen each had one. Justin Allen recorded two assists while Kevin Nason made five saves on 11 shots for the 2-0 Patriots.

For 1-1 Central, Joe Allen and Tristan Strout each had a goal and an assist while Adam Allen, Greg Libbey and Paul Laking combined for 15 saves on 27 shots.

Brewer 2, Nokomis 1

At Brewer, Will Prescott scored the game-winning goal 8:29 into the second half off an assist from Zach Bouzan-Kaloustian to give the host Witches the win over the Warriors of Newport.

Francesco Tripputi scored the first Brewer goal, also on a Bouzan-Kaloustian assist. Mike King saved eight of 14 shots.

For the 0-2 Warriors, Justin Paradis scored on a pass from Justin Nichols. Erik Gardner had three saves on 13 shots.

JV: Brewer 4-3

Ellsworth 2, Orono 1

At Ellsworth, Erik Maleck scored two goals, giving the 2-0 Eagles the win.

Seth Mayo assisted on one goal while Chad Smith made six saves on 10 shots.

For Orono, Mike Spitz scored an unassisted goal for 0-2 Orono while Mike Merritt and Evan James combined for 8 saves on 22 shots.

JV: Ellsworth 3, Orono 1

John Bapst 1, Hermon 0

At Bangor, Colby Theriault scored the winning goal with an assist from Zach Means with 17 minutes remaining in the first half.

Bill Chapman faced six shots and stopped five for 2-0 John Bapst.

Matt Wilson made 14 saves on 21 shots for 1-1 Hermon.

Penobscot Valley 2, Schenck 1

At East Millinocket, Keith Champion scored two unassisted goals, leading 2-1 Penobscot Valley to victory.

Lance Pelkey made 10 saves on 19 shots.

Tyler Thompson scored unassisted for 0-2 Schenck while Mike Rossignol stopped 12 of 12 shots.

Lee 5, Southern Aroostook 1

At Dyer Brook, Blair Emery scored two goals as the Pandas rolled past the Warriors.

Dusting Pickering had one goal and assisted on two others, Frank Severance had a goal and an assist and Opie McDonald added a goal for 4-0 Lee Academy. Adam Ham stopped 12 of 17 shots.

Zack Austin scored the Southern Aroostook goal off an assist by Tommy St. Pierre. Jeff Boutilier and Zac Philibert combined to stop 16 of 25 shots for 1-4 Southern Aroostook.

Dexter 2, DI-Stonington 0

At Dexter, Jason Clukey scored two goals and Mitchell Sawyer had two assists to lead the Tigers by Deer Isle-Stonington.

Brian Hersey earned his 10th career shutout with Dexter, now 1-1, as he stopped all five shots.

Chris Groll made 23 saves on 25 shots for the 1-1 Mariners.

Sumner 2, George Stevens 1

At Blue Hill, Will Seyffer scored the winning goal for 2-0 Sumner with 7:21 remaining in the game.

Trevor Renwick scored the first goal on an assist from Geofrey Kidder while Jason Guest stopped four of nine shots.

Mark Clapp scored with an assist from Hans Reuter while James Friend faced 21 shots and stopped nine for 1-1 George Stevens Academy.

MDI 5, Bucksport 1

At Bucksport, Myles Jordan scored twice to help lead the Mount Desert Island Trojans past the Golden Bucks.

Cody Stratton had a goal and an assist for the 1-0 Trojans. Blay Carr and Kollin Drinkert each scored a goal. Adam Thurston and Bill Crawford combined to make 10 saves on 15 shots.

Caleb Grindle scored on a James Booth assist for the 0-2 Bucks. Trevor Stevens made 27 saves on 32 shots.

JV: MDI 10-0
