HALLOWELL – Maine State Police on Thursday appealed to the public for help in locating an inmate who walked away from the Hallowell pre-release center a week earlier.

William Morse, 31, of Oxford was reporting missing on the evening of Aug. 29 and has not been seen since.

He was serving a two-year sentence for eluding a police officer, violating a protection-from-abuse order and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, said Stephen McCausland of the Public Safety Department.
