HARRINGTON – Three people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a two-car accident on U.S. Route 1 in Harrington.
Trooper Barry Curtis of the Maine State Police said Andrew Caudill, 22, of North Carolina suffered a cut to a tendon in his foot when his 1995 Chevy was hit broadside by a 1991 Plymouth driven by Rosa Rivera, 41, of Winter Haven, Fla.
Rivera was treated for neck pain. Her passenger, Jose Ojeda, 27, suffered facial cuts when his head struck the windshield.
The accident occurred at 1:40 a.m. as Caudill, who was driving east on Route 1, attempted to make a left turn into the Harrington Irving station, Curtis said.
Caudill turned into the path of Rivera’s car, which was traveling west on Route 1, the trooper said. Rivera and Ojeda were not wearing seat belts, he said.
No charges were filed, Curtis said.
