ASHLAND – Amanda Martin’s three goals and assist broke Ashland’s all-time scoring and points schoolgirl soccer records to lead the Hornets to a 5-0 victory over the Washburn Beavers Friday.

Martin’s second goal of the game midway through the second half set the all-time scoring record with her 48th career goal. Martin’s assist came on a goal by Caitlin Sherman late in the second half to set the school’s all-time points record with 70 points. The records were previously held by Heidi Maker.

Sherman and Beth Chamberlain had an assist each. Jessica Jacques had a goal and an assist for the Hornets. Kim Oakes notched her second shutout of the season for 5-1 Ashland, saving nine of 12 shots.

Morgan Sickles stopped 14 of 21 shots for 1-8-2 Washburn.

Calais 1, Narraguagus 0

At Calais, Morgan Drew’s game-winning goal with 1:13 remaining in the first half secured the Blue Devils a win in their season opener.

Katie Welch saved 10 of 13 shots on goal for 1-0 Calais. Sarah Snider stopped seven of nine shots for 0-2 Narraguagus of Harrington.

Central Aroostook 1, Wisdom 0

At Mars Hill, Gabrielle Smith’s goal with 1:21 remaining in the match turned out to be the difference as the Panthers edged the Pioneers.

Smith’s goal came when she blasted the rebound of her deflected free kick into the goal.

Chantal Gagnon stopped four of five shots for 7-2-1 Central Aroostook.

Shannon Berube made 11 saves on 15 shots for 4-6 Wisdom.

East Grand 2, Houlton Chr. 0

At Danforth, Paula Osnoe earned her first shutout of the season, stopping all seven shots she faced as the Vikings got the win.

Marie Gilman and Amanda Godley each scored for 1-0-1 East Grand.

Meredith Jago stopped 29 of 31 shots for 0-1 Houlton Christian.

Easton 2, Southern Aroostook 1

At Dyer Brook, Nina Alexander’s goal with 1:50 left in the match proved to be the game-winner for the Bears.

Krystine Pytlan assisted on Alexander’s goal. Anna Jackson scored in the first half to give Easton the early lead. Toni Ladner made seven saves on 23 shots for the 2-8 Bears.

Southern Aroostook’s Michelle Boutilier scored off an assist from Holly Toothaker with 22:19 left in the game. Crystal Cameron stopped 15 of the 17 shots for the Warriors, now 0-5.

Katahdin 1, Bangor Chr. 0

At Sherman Station, Krystle McMoran’s goal with 27:36 left in the first half proved to be the game winner for the Cougars.

Scarlet McAvoy assisted on the game-winning score for Katahdin.

Mindy Libby earned her first shutout of the season as she stopped eight of 13 shots for 2-1-1 Katahdin. Kendil Snow saved 15 of 26 shots for 1-2 Bangor Christian.

Houlton 1, Fort Kent 0

At Houlton, Hannah Socoby scored the deciding goal at the 18:35 mark of the second half when she fired the ball into the net after it had rebounded off Fort Kent goalie Heather Hartman.

Sarah Beasley was credited with the assist for the 4-2-1 Shiretowners. Anna Lenentine stopped all nine Warrior shots and recorded her fourth shutout of the year and her second in a row.

For 2-3-0 Fort Kent, Hartman turned away 10 of 14 Houlton attempts.

Van Buren 3, Fort Fairfield 0

At Van Buren, Nicole Corbin tallied two goals as the Crusaders topped the Tigers.

Amy Vaillancourt put in a goal and added two assists for 8-2 Van Buren. Danielle Gagnon made three saves on five shots.

Kaylee Searles and Allyson Turner combined for 15 saves on 26 shots for 1-9-1 Fort Fairfield.

Greenville 3, Shead 0

At Eastport, Cindy Lebel scored one goal and assisted on the Lakers’ other two scores as Greenville upped its mark to 3-0.

Jillian Bouley and Lindsay Ryder netted a goal each for Greenville. Jessica Craft made four saves on five shots.

For the 0-2 Tigers, Roliza DeWitt stopped 10 of 13 shots.

Orono 5, Foxcroft 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Molly Dupere scored three goals and record an assist in the Red Riots’ win over the Ponies.

Maria Millard added two goals for 1-2 Orono while Marie Lint and Joelle Clingerman saved two of six shots.

Christina Kurzius scored off a Leslie Nelson assist for 0-3 Foxcroft, Katie Walsh and Darcy McCormick combined to make 10 saves on 26 shots.

Boys soccer

WA Raiders 6, Jonesport-Beals 1

At East Machias, five different players provided offense for the Raiders in their win.

Juan Cabau scored two goals and added an assist. Max Weiss, Whitney Stevens and Matt Gibson each chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece. Jared Gray scored once and split time in goal with Barrett Craven. The two combined for five saves on 10 shots for 1-1 Washington Academy.

Ben Durkee put in a penalty kick for the 0-2 Royals and Abraham Beal stopped 10 of 19 shots.

Fort Kent 5, Houlton 0

At Houlton, Nick Thibodeau’s shutout led the Warriors to victory as he stopped all nine Shiretowner shots.

James Raymond scored two goals and Cody Daigle added a goal and two assists for Fort Kent. Anthony Lamar and Shawn Levesque scored a goal in the win and Ben Lashard and Ethan Raymont each added an assist for 5-1-1 Fort Kent.

James Skehan stopped 12 of 17 shots for 3-6 Houlton.

Washburn 2, Ashland 1 (OT)

At Ashland, Seth Milton assisted on Trevor Thibodeau’s game-winning goal with 40 seconds left in overtime for the Beavers.

Isaac Carney scored the first goal of the game for Washburn on an Adam Worsley assist with 6:34 remaining in the second half. The Hornets tied the game at one apiece when Allan O’Clair scored unassisted with 1:37 remaining in the contest. Jesse Maynard stopped 18 of 24 shots for 5-4-1 Washburn.

Randy Junkins saved 19 of 25 shots for 2-4 Ashland.

Van Buren 1, Fort Fairfield 0

At Van Buren, Stacy Ayotte’s goal one minute into overtime gave the Crusaders the win.

Ayotte’s goal came on a direct free kick from 20 yards out. Sean Violette saved all five shots he faced for 8-2 Van Buren.

Bryan Babin stopped nine of 14 shots for 6-2-2 Fort Fairfield.

Central Aroostook 3, Wisdom 1

At Mars Hill, Jeff Clockedile tallied two goals in the first half as the Panthers held off the Pioneers.

Andy Grivois added a goal and an assist. Adam Crew and Jonathan Boyd combined for seven saves on 10 shots for 5-4-2 Central Aroostook.

Andrew Gervais scored on a second-half penalty kick for 3-7-1 Wisdom of St. Agatha. Kenny Corriveau stopped 17 of 23 shots.

Bangor Christian 7, Katahdin 1

At Bangor, Matt Conley knocked in three goals as the Patriots rolled past the Cougars.

Ben Sobey added two goals and an assist. Greg Patterson and Chase Ossinger each scored once, and Brady Harriman and Kliton Xhemali added an assist apiece. D. J. McCleary stopped seven of eight shots for 2-1 Bangor Christian.

Travis Robinson scored the only goal for 0-4 Katahdin of Sherman Station. Jordan Qualey made 12 saves on 32 shots.

Southern Aroostook 4, Easton 0

At Dyer Brook, Zac Philibert stopped 10 of 13 shots for the Warriors in the shutout.

Corey Edkins scored twice and Tom St. Pierre chipped in with three assists for Southern Aroostook (2-4-1). Zack Austin and Mike Lopez added one goal apiece and Kevin Dubois had an assist.

Kyle Wells made 20 saves on 26 shots for the 1-7-1 Bears.

Machias 3, Narraguagus 1

At Harrington, Will Hasselman sparked the Bulldogs with a first-half goal en route to the win.

Chris Correll and Joe Richards chipped in with goals for 2-0 Machias. Marcus Frutchey made one save on two shots.

Derek LaPoint scored for the 1-2 Knights and Eric Pelletier stopped 17 of 20 shots.

Greenville 9, Vinalhaven 0

At Greenville, Tyler Muzzy fired home four goals as Greenville improved to 3-0.

Gregory Aucoin contributed a goal and two assists while Derek Boucher had a goal and an assist. Chris Waldron, Richard Folsom and Kevin Bradford had a goal apiece and Aaron Crossman stopped four of five shots.

For 0-1 Vinalhaven, Riley Poole made 30 saves on 48 shots.

Mount View 3, Belfast 2

At Belfast, Marc McCorrison blasted in a pass from Morey Hollett with 5:29 remaining to lift Mount View of Thorndike.

McCorrison also had a goal in the first half for the 2-1 Mustangs. Mark Soisson added a goal and Hank Mattson and Rich Malady had assists. Dan Pellerin stopped 18 of 20 Belfast shots.

For the 0-2-1 Lions, Caleb Barnaby registered a goal and an assist. Ned O’Conner registered a goal and Matt Olsen recorded an assist. Goalie Chris Abbott made 20 saves on 36 shots.
