I would like to clarify one small point in the Bangor Daily News’ otherwise excellent description (Aug. 24) of the problems my client, Larry Thies, and his neighbors at Lucky’s Landing have had with a roaming Rottweiler. I had prepared the case for trial and arrived at the courthouse, expecting that I would not be compensated for my time. I had so informed [BDN reporter] Renee Ordway the evening before.

However, to my surprise, Larry’s neighbors had taken up a small collection to pay a small portion of the fees that this office otherwise would have written off and I did accept that small check and wrote off the balance.
