ASHLAND – Beth Chamberlain scored the game’s only goal with 10:21 remaining in the second half, lifting Ashland to a 1-0 schoolgirl soccer victory over Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Chamberlain’s header came off an Amanda Martin corner kick.

Kim Oakes earned her fifth shutout of the season for 7-1 Ashland, posting four saves on 13 shots.

Chantal Gagnon made eight saves on 16 shots for the 8-2-2 Panthers.

Houlton 3, Hodgdon 0

At Houlton, Sylvia Brown logged a goal and an assist as the Shiretowners earned the shutout.

For 6-2-1 Houlton, Sarah Beasley and Claire Thompson chipped in with a goal apiece and Patty Howe and Tamara Goodrich registered assists. Anna Lenentine made four saves on seven shots.

Amanda Fitzpatrick notched 12 saves on 15 shots for 3-6-2 Hodgdon.

JV: Houlton 4-0

Washburn 4, Easton 0

At Washburn, Carrie McLaughlin scored two goals as the Beavers shut out the Bears.

Anna Ouellette and Kristi Fitzpatrick each added a goal. Kristi Kelley notched an assist for the 3-9-2 Beavers.

Emily Campbell made seven saves on 10 shots in her first start of the year, which was Washburn’s regular-season finale.

Jessica Littlefield stopped 14 of 26 shots for 2-9-1 Easton.

Calais 2, Woodland 0

At Woodland, Katie Welch and Lanna Martin combined to shut out the injury-plagued Dragons, who were missing three starters.

Martin and Morgan Drew each scored unassisted goals for the Blue Devils. Welch and Martin combined for 10 saves on 12 shots for 3-0 Calais.

Alicia Vose and Katie Smith teamed up to make make eight saves on 13 shots for 2-2 Woodland.

Boys soccer

Washburn 7, Easton 0

At Washburn, Jesse Maynard earned his third shutout of the season as stopped the only shot he faced.

Trevor Thibodeau scored three goals for the Beavers, while Seth Milton added two goals and an assist. Joseph Goupille scored a goal and Adam Worsley scored on a penalty kick and added an assist. Jason Thompson has two assists and Nathan Doody had one for 8-4-2 Washburn.

Danny Warren made 29 saves on 36 shots for 1-11-1 Easton.

Ashland 7, Central Aroostook 2

At Ashland, three Hornets players scored two goals apiece in Ashland’s third win of the season.

Jesse Good, James Dwyer and Bruce Oaks had two goals each for the Hornets. Allan O’Clair added a goal. Brock Bessey contributed two assists. Eric Ham and Brandon Millett added one each.

Randy Junkins stopped 15 of 23 shots for 3-4-1 Ashland.

Jeff Clockedile and Andy Grivois scored the goals for the Panthers. Grivois and Nate Holcomb each had an assist. Jon Boyd saved 11 of 20 shots for 6-6-2 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

Caribou 1, Presque Isle 1 (2OT)

At Presque Isle Thursday, Mike Hoffman scored with 8:09 left in regulation to help the Vikings earn a tie with the Wildcats.

Joel Griffeth assisted on Hoffman’s goal. Nic Chasse made nine saves on 12 shots for 5-1-2 Caribou.

Nick Casavant had given 5-2 Presque Isle the lead with 37 seconds left in the first half. R.J. Gagnon picked up the assist. Shane Clark stopped nine of 20 shots.
