Earliest Piscataquis County families recorded

In 1978, my cousin Paul E. Bennett of Freeport gave me a copy of a Cummings family record from Greenville, the Cummingses and Hildreths being two of the earliest families to settle in what was once known as Haskell Plantation. Their descendants include Waldens, as well as relatives listed here.

3139. COX-MITCHELL-TENNEY. Seek proof that Nathaniel Cox Jr., b. Nov. 1, 1772, Columbia, was son of Nathaniel and Hannah (Mitchell) Cox. Nathaniel Jr. md. Johannah Tenney, daughter of George and Bethia (Elwell) Tenney. Nathaniel and Johannah moved to Edmunds area about 1800. Seek proof they were parents of Joanna, b. about 1801 in Edmunds, md.
