Olympic gold medalist Ian Crocker of Portland was named to the 2001 All-America team and National ‘A’ team, USA Swimming announced Thursday.

Crocker’s times in the 100- and 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly were good for All-America honors. He made the National ‘A’ team for his performance in the 100-meter butterfly. Crocker, who is a sophomore at the University of Texas, bettered his own American record in the 100-meter fly (52.25) at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan this summer and won the event at the spring Phillips 66 National Championships.

Crocker was a gold medalist in the 400-meter medley relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
