MONTREAL – Expos general manager Jim Beattie will leave his job when his three-year contract expires Oct. 31.

Beattie, a former major league pitcher, took over as HM from Kevin Malone in October 1995. Beattie is a South Portland, Maine, native.

Prior to joining the Expos, Beattie was director of player development with the Seattle Mariners from 1989-95.

Beattie, a Dartmouth graduate, has a 52-87 career record with a 4.17 ERA in 203 games with the New York Yankees (1978-79) and Seattle (1980-86).
