Robbins outduels Rowe

At Oxford Plains, Scott Robbins of Dixfield held off Ben Rowe of Turner to win the 100-lap pro stock feature Saturday.

Robbins took the lead for good from South Portland’s Mike Maietta Sr. on lap 24. Rowe finished in second place and Maietta Sr. was third.

Mike Rowe of Turner and Mike Maietta Jr. of South Portland were fourth and fifth, respectively.

Romano tops Ryan at Winterport

At Winterport Dragway, Elaine Romano of Jay won the super pro eliminator race, and then outdueled Barney Ryan of Harmony in the super pro/pro final Sunday.

In the super pro eliminator, Russell Dwelley of Waite was second and Don Barnes of Calais took third. Ryan got to the final by virtue of a win in the pro eliminator, in which Don Joy of Machias and Joe Paluga of Bar Harbor were second and third, respectively.

Chubbock wins 95 feature

At Speedway 95 in Hermon, Scott Chubbuck of Wiscasset stayed in the top three for the entire race in the 50-lap Partnership For A Tobacco Free Maine Pro Stock Feature and won by half a car length over Aaron St. Peter of Brewer Sunday.

Chubbuck swapped the lead with Bar Harbor’s John Phippen in the early going, then had to wrestle it back from Jeff Burgess of Oakland while holding off a determined St. Peter. St. Peter finished second, followed by Mike Thomas of Etna, Jeff Burgess of Oakland and Randy Turner of Freedom.
