FORT KENT – Meghan Minzy converted a Jackie Masse pass with 6:20 left in the game as the Fort Kent girls soccer team knocked off previously undefeated Old Town 2-1 Saturday in high school action.

Becka Soucy gained the Warriors’ first score on a feed from Minzy. Mindy Morneault and Heather Hartman combined to make six saves on nine shots for 4-6-1 Fort Kent.

For 5-1-2 Old Town, Mallory Brown logged a goal on an assist from Becky Standley. Whitney Carey stopped eight of 16 shots.

JV: Fort Kent 4-0

Narraguagus 9, Wash. Acad. 0

At Harrington, Jen Strout poured in three goals and Linny Barbee booted two goals and added three assists as the Knights blanked Washington Academy of East Machias.

Kelcey Rossi, Sarah Snider and Amanda Gage-Croll all recorded a goal and an assist and Leann Skeat contributed a goal for Narraguagus. Snider and Lou Torrey combined to stop all five shots fired at the goal.

Emily Mawhinney turned back 18 of 30 shots for the Raiders.

Shead 4, Highview Christian 1

At Charleston Friday, Samantha Davis poured in three unassisted goals to pace the Tigerettes.

Valerie Bowen contributed a goal and Skylar Richardson dished out an assist for 3-4 Shead of Eastport. Roliza DeWitt made seven saves on 14 shots.

For 0-4 Highview Christian, Lisa Cooper recorded an unassisted score. Sherry Cooper turned away 15 of 23 shots.

Bangor 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle, Justine Smith provided the game-winning goal when she took a Whitney Lingenfelter cross at the left post and booted it home with three minutes left in the game.

Ashley Tower scored off an Emily Capehart feed to tie the game for the 4-3 Rams with 16:50 to play. Katherine Miller made 12 saves on 18 shots.

Sarah Belden took advantage of a slight breeze and knocked a corner kick into the net for 7-2-1 Presque Isle with just 38 seconds to go in the first half. Melissa DeMerchant made nine saves on 14 shots.

JV: 1-1

Hampden 4, Caribou 0

At Caribou, Hampden ran its mark to 8-0 behind the one-goal, two-assist effort of Kim Stephenson.

Tyne Franchi, Emily O’Connell and Laura Martin added goals for the Broncos. Emily Russell registered four saves on five shots.

For the 1-8 Vikings, Leah Drew garnered 35 saves on 46 shots.

JV: Hampden 4-2

Valley 2, Windham Christian 1

At Bingham, Megan Melcher tallied a goal and an assist to lift Valley over Windham Christian.

Sarah Hilmer chipped in with a goal and Marcy MacDonald added an assist. Breanna Belanger turned away seven of 17 shots.

For Windham Christian, Angie Buono notched an unassisted score. Laura Dodge made 11 saves on 26 shots.

Foxcroft 5, Central 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Kristi Roberts racked up two goals and Erica Kaufman added a goal and two assists as the Ponies topped Central of East Corinth.

Leslie Nelson and Christina Kurzius contributed a goal each as Foxcroft improved to 2-5. Darcy McCormick stopped both shots she faced.

For the 1-6 Red Devils, Nicole Daniel turned away 13 of 33 shots.

John Bapst 3, Penquis 1

At Milo, Katie Rice, Nikki Novak and Julie Crotty each netted a goal as John Bapst of Bangor cruised to the win.

Meghan Sekera chipped in with a pair of assists for the 5-0-1 Crusaders. Alex Waring made five saves on 18 shots.

For the 5-2 Patriots, Erin Beasley scored on a pass from Lindsay Hamlin. Ashley Pelletier and Nicole Nason combined for seven saves on 18 shots.

GSA 6, DI-Stonington 0

At Blue Hill, Kerri Driscoll racked up two goals as George Stevens Academy downed the Mariners.

Sarah Clapp added a goal and two assists while Anastasia Osage and Bethany Roberts contributed a goal and an assist apiece. Bri Bamford chipped in with a goal and Sara Patterson had an assist. Osage and Liz Tyler combined for two saves on two shots as the Eagles improved to 6-2-1.

For 1-6 Deer Isle-Stonington, Roz Santospago turned away 17 of 40 shots.

Bucksport 3, Brewer 2

At Bucksport, Elissa Gordon’s score on a direct kick at the 32:49 mark of the second half was the difference for Bucksport.

Gordon had another unassisted goal and Brittany Damon scored on a pass from Erica Bourgon. Jana Richards made four saves on six shots for the 7-0-1 Golden Bucks.

For 2-5 Brewer, Melissa Jacobs and Jade Freeman logged unassisted goals. Stephanie Dickey turned back five of 32 shots.

Ellsworth 1, MDI 0

At Mount Desert Island, Sarah Silsby kicked in a Mallory Patten pass with 7:36 remaining in the first half as Ellsworth slipped by Mount Desert Island.

Victoria Jones stopped four of five shots for the 5-1-2 Eagles. For the 0-6-1 Trojans, Sarah Johnson made 13 saves on 21 shots.

BC Pats 4, Penobscot Valley 1

At Howland, Heather Niles tallied two goals and an assist as the Patriots rolled to the win.

Danielle Miller and Monique Veilleux each contributed a goal for Bangor Christian. Kendil Snow made 14 saves on 19 shots.

Alicia Drost scored on an assist from Meagan Cyr for the Howlers. Kylie McGinn stopped 15 of 21 shots.

Boys soccer

Presque Isle 5, Bangor 0

At Presque Isle, Nick Casavant put in a pair of goals as the Wildcats shut down the Rams.

Darren Carlisle contributed a goal and an assist, Trevor Graves and Kyle James both notched goals, and Matt Pelletier and Ben Lynch each had an assist for 7-1-2 Presque Isle. Shane Clark recorded seven saves on 10 shots.

Payson Nichols and Josh Heath combined to make five saves on 14 shots for 3-4-0 Bangor.

Caribou 3, Hampden 0

At Caribou, Joel Griffeth scored two goals and assisted on the third to help the Vikings past the Broncos.

Mike Hoffman scored twice on Griffeth feeds for Caribou. Nic Chasse made four saves on 10 shots.

Ken Mayo made four saves on 14 shots for Hampden.

Fort Fairfield 5, Limestone 2

At Limestone, Mickey Browning racked up three goals to lift Fort Fairfield over Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics Friday.

Doug Ayoob scored on a penalty kick, Eric Ternquist added an unassisted goal and Aaron Kenneson contributed an assist for the 8-2-2 Tigers. Ryan Babin logged 14 saves on 20 shots.

For the 5-6-1 Eagles, Christian Beck booted a goal and an assist. Dale Swanton added a goal, Ben Dow dished out an assist and Dominick Lobkowicz registered nine saves on 19 shots.

Machias 7, Woodland 0

At Woodland, seven players scored goals as the Bulldogs cruised to their seventh win without a loss.

Joe Richards paced the offense with a goal and two assists while Matt Cobb, Thomas Buck, Chris Correll, Matt Edwards, Patrick Shonningsen and Jarad Worcester netted a goal apiece. Will Hasselmann chipped in with two assists and Marcus Frutchey made two saves on eight shots.

For 0-9 Woodland, Aaron Moody stopped 21 of the 28 shots he faced.

Piscataquis 1, Penobscot Valley 0

At Howland, Kyle Pulkkinen delivered on a pass from Ben Smith with 33:43 remaining in the second half to lift Piscataquis of Guilford to the win.

For the 5-2-2 Pirates, Josh Luellen recorded four saves on six shots.

Lance Pelkey turned back 11 of 12 shots for the 6-2-1 Howlers.

Penquis 2, Lee 0

At Milo, Ben Knapp registered a goal and an assist as the Patriots blanked Lee.

Colby Chase also scored for Penquis. Mike Grindel recorded eight saves on 11 shots.

Lee goalie Adam Hamm turned away 18 of 23 Penquis attempts.
