The American Red Cross will conduct four blood drives in Washington County during the next month. Blood donations in October will allow the Red Cross to ship blood out of the New England region to New York and Washington for the treatment of burn victims.

Local blood drives are:

Thursday, Sept. 27: 2 to 7 p.m. at Narraguagus High School in Harrington.

Friday, Sept. 28: Noon to 5 p.m. at the East Machias Municipal Building

Monday, Oct. 1: Noon to 6 p.m. at Portside Hall Student Center, University of Maine at Machias

Tuesday, Oct. 23: 1 to 6 p.m. Calais Regional Hospital.
