PRESQUE ISLE – Melissa Achorn knocked in a pair of goals to lead the Husson College Braves to a 3-0 women’s soccer victory over the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls Thursday.
Kirsten Pelletier added a goal and an assist for Husson of Bangor. Meg Taylor rejected 10 of 12 shots.
Noreen Marcino made 12 saves on 16 shots for the Owls.
UMF 3, St. Joseph’s 0
At Standish, Megan Woodcock notched a goal and an assist as the UMaine-Farmington Beavers blanked the Monks.
Shannon Mailhot and Julia Malek added a goal each for 5-2 UM-Farmington.
Marissa Regan made 20 saves on 29 shots for the 4-3 Monks.
Colby 2, Southern Maine 1 (2OT)
At Waterville, Lauren Gremelspacher knocked in the game-winner off a pass from Christine O’Donnell, who added a goal of her own, as the White Mules knocked off Southern Maine.
Abby Cussell made six saves on 15 shots for Colby.
Abbie Leonard scored off an assist from Molly Tanguway for the Huskies. Marcy Ansley rejected 18 of 55 shots.
Men’s soccer
Unity 4, Southern Maine Tech 0
At Unity, the Rams had goals from four different players as they blanked the Techs.
Andy Brower, Tim Howland, Kieran Kelly and Brian McCallion scored goals while Travis Coutlee made three saves on three shots for 7-2 Unity.
Daniel Michaud stopped three of 10 shots for 5-3-2 Southern Maine Tech of South Portland.
Field hockey
Colby 6, St. Joseph’s 0
At Waterville, Becca Bruce and Wendy Bonner had a goal and an assist apiece as Colby improved to 5-0.
Sarah Browne, Injoo Han, Marcia Ingraham and Sarah Goodrich had the other goals and Britney Lazar had an assist. Carrie Torrisi and Maura Myers faced three shots but weren’t required to make a save.
Laura Lombardi made 20 saves on 41 shots for 2-5 St. Joseph’s of Standish.
