Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility is seeking examples of the best practices in business relating to wellness to be printed and shared with other businesses across the state. The “Collection of Best Practices in Wellness” will be available free of charge to participants who preregister for the group’s Oct. 31 breakfast program
The program, titled “Creating Wellness: What Maine Businesses Should Be Doing,” will be held from 7:15 to 9 a.m. at the Bangor Theological Seminary and is sponsored by Eastern Maine Medical Center. A panel of experts will explore successful programs currently in place that promote wellness in the work force and are economically feasible for any size business to carry out.
To submit a wellness practice or register for the program, contact Sanna McKim at 722-3130, mebsr@acadia.net, or Heather Chandler at 761-4300, hchandler@mebsr.org by Oct. 10.
The wellness best practice initiative is part of a larger MEBSR effort to create a database of resources illustrating how Maine businesses are “doing well by doing good,” essentially improving the bottom line while achieving community, environmental, and workplace goals. There currently are more than 250 Best Practice case studies available in a searchable database at www.mebsr.org.
Maine Businesses for Social Responsibility is a statewide organization of more than 350 member businesses representing more than 40,000 employees.
