PARIS – An 88-year-old woman was killed Tuesday when she was struck by a car while crossing a street in Paris.
Paris police Chief David Verrier said Arline Buck was crossing the street shortly before noon to retrieve her mail when she was struck by a minivan driven by 84-year-old Lloyd Witham of Norway.
Verrier said speed did not appear to be a factor and no charges have been filed, but that the accident still is under investigation.
He said Buck died from multiple injuries.
