ORONO – Robert Creeley, a visiting professor in the English department at the University of Maine, has become the eighth recipient of the Lannan Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, which honors writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature, includes a purse of $200,000.

ORONO – Robert Creeley, a visiting professor in the English department at the University of Maine, has become the eighth recipient of the Lannan Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award, which honors writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature, includes a purse of $200,000.

Creeley, 75, has written more than 75 volumes of poetry. His most recent stand-alone volume, “Life and Death,” was published in 1998.
