Shawn Walsh faced death as he lived life, with courage and grace. Though we knew the odds were not in his favor, his never-say-quit spirit made us believe he would defeat this formidable opponent, cancer.

It may have claimed his body, but it couldn’t kill his spirit. That will live on in the hearts of his family, friends and every kid he ever coached. The life lessons he taught will be part of them forever. His influence in and out of college hockey will go on growing much like the ripple effect of a stone tossed on a quiet pond.

Thanks Shawn for 17 years of great memories. You were a colorful guy, great fun to watch and truly a coach for all seasons. We’ll miss you!
