New chief deputy named in Aroostook

HOULTON – Craig Clossey of New Limerick, a 13-year veteran of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department, has been appointed that agency’s new chief deputy by Sheriff James Madore.

Before his promotion, Clossey, 33, held the rank of sergeant and was training officer for the Sheriff’s Department. He also has served as a firearms instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

In his new job, Clossey will oversee the everyday operations of department’s patrol, prisoner transportation, corrections and communications divisions.

He also will assume the duties of sheriff in Madore’s absence.
