Voice For Animals

In the Newport area a family moved away and abandoned at least seven cats. These frightened, dehydrated, starving animals were discovered by some caring people who have been trying to help them. Five have been live-trapped, neutered, had their shots and had their health problems taken care of.

A couple is providing these five with a foster home until permanent homes can be found. Unfortunately, the remaining two (or more) are still at the place they were abandoned because there are no funds and no homes available for them. Voice For Animals spent a huge portion of its limited budget to care for the first five. This caring group of people from the Waterville-Winslow area was contacted and stepped up to do something about it.

If you can provide a temporary foster home for any of the remaining abandoned cats or make a monetary donation for the upcoming veterinarian bills, please contact Cathy O’Connor of Winslow at 873-4661, or e-mail her at critters@mint.net, or contact Voice For Animals, Waterville-Winslow Area Chapter, P.O. Box 172, Shawmut 04975. Also, if you can adopt one of these cats and give it a permanent, loving home, please do so.
