WARREN – A teen-ager from Camden drowned Monday when stiff winds tipped over his canoe.

Adam Ober, 18, died in the 12:30 p.m. accident while duck hunting on Crawford Pond with two friends, said Mark Latti, spokesman for the Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.

Ober was hunting with Jesse Nash and Michael Gasser, both 18 and from Camden, when they began canoeing from the west side to the east side of the pond. Latti said the canoe tipped about 30 yards from shore and that Gasser and Nash were able to swim to safety.
