Fort Kent girls hand Bucksport first loss

FORT KENT – Jackie Masse scored on an assist from Ashley Pelletier for what would be the winning goal Monday as Fort Kent posted a 3-2 schoolgirl soccer victory over previously unbeaten Bucksport.

Gabrielle Cyr added an unassisted goal while Amber Nadeau scored on a pass from Sara Cyr for the 7-6-1 Warriors. Mindy Morneault and Heather Hartman combined for nine saves on 13 shots.

Alyssa Gordon and Jessie Taylor each had goals for 11-1-2 Bucksport while Erica Bourgon had an assist. Jana Richards faced 21 shots and stopped 15.

Madawaska 11, Hodgdon 1

At Madawaska, Kristine Cyr led the 11-1-1 Owls with four goals and three assists.

Kay Gerard scored three goals and had two assists. Rosa Londono also had three goals. Michelle Morneault had a goal and an assist while Danielle Lavoie recorded two assists. Kelly Chasse added an assist. Meghan Marshall made three saves on four shots.

Sara MCGary scored for the 4-8-1 Hawks with an assist from Megan Beals while Lindsey Stewart faced 32 shots and stopped 13.

Presque Isle 4, Brewer 1

At Presque Isle, Autumn Tuttle, Natasha Deshene and Chriki Jones all had unassisted goals to help give the 9-3-2 Wildcats the win.

Heidi Ayotte scored with an assist from Anna Delong while Jessica Price made 12 saves on 14 shots.

Rachel Wing scored unassisted while Stephanie Dickey stopped 39 of 43 shots for 3-11 Brewer.

Shead 4, Washington Acad. 0

At East Machias, Samantha Davis scored two goals for the 6-8 Tigerettes.

Valerie Bowen and Vanessa McPhail each scored and had an assist while Skylar Richardson added an assist. Roliza DeWitt stopped two of two shots.

Emily Mawhinney made 15 saves on 20 shots for 0-10 Washington Academy.

‘Guagus 1, Woodland 1 (2OT)

At Harrington, Lou Torrey scored the game-tying goal for 8-1-2 Narraguagus on a direct kick while Sarah Snider made 10 saves on 23 shots.

Alicia Vose scored for the 8-5-1 Dragons with an assist from Kaitlyn Leeman. Beth Covey stopped 11 of 22 shots.

Lee 3, Penquis 2

At Milo, Deidra Ham scored all three goals for 14-0 Lee Academy to give the Pandas the win.

Jenny Stevens and Shelby Pickering each recorded assists while Katie Harris stopped 15 of 22 shots.

April Allen scored with an assist from Shannon Gerrish and Erin Beasley had a goal assisted by Kate Hamlin for 8-5-1 Penquis. Ashley Pelletier made 20 saves on 28 shots.

Searsport 6, Dexter 0

At Searsport, Jessica Larrabee led the 10-3-1 Vikings with two goals and an assist.

Shanna Murphy had two goals while Janelle Hamilton added a goal and an assist. Holly Gracie chipped in with a goal while Jessica Plourde had two assists. Abby Tripp and Taralee Webster each recorded assists while Mo Hall made four saves on 10 shots.

Daphne Robichaud faced 26 shots and stopped 10 for Dexter.

Orono 1, MDI 0

At Mount Desert, Molly Dupere scored an unassisted goal from 20 yards out with 10 minutes left in the first half, providing the only goal the Red Riots would need.

Joelle Clingerman and Marie Lint combined to make six saves on eight shots for Orono.

Sarah Johnson made six saves on 12 shots for Mount Desert Island.

Schenck 4, Central 1

At Corinth, Laura Davis scored four second-half goals to propel Schenck of East Millinocket to victory.

Kasey Rossignol and Jessica Day assisted on two of Davis’ tallies. Beth Chasse made eight saves on nine shots.

Nicole Richardson scored an unassisted goal for Central. Nicole Daniel made 15 saves on 19 shots.

Old Town 0, Hermon 0 (2OT)

At Hermon, Shannon Wiggin made 12 saves on 15 shots for 1-10-3 Hermon in a scoreless tie while Whitney Carey stopped 15 of 23 shots for 7-1-6 Old Town.

Boys soccer

Brewer 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle, Will Prescott scored the winning goal for Brewer with 5:11 remaining in the game.

Joseph Caron scored on a penalty kick and Michael King faced 20 shots and stopped 14 for the winners.

Darren Carlisle scored on a pass from Nick Casavant while Shane Clark made 10 saves on 13 shots for Presque Isle.

Madawaska 7, Hodgdon 0

At Madawaska, Marc Garcia scored three goals to power the Owls to victory.

Florian Schmid and Ted McHenry each chipped in with two goals for the 6-5-2 winners while Frantisek Nikl, Josh Michaud, Shawn Paradis and Garcia added an assist apiece. Jon Cowie and Paul Michaud combined for three saves on seven shots.

For 3-9-1 Hodgdon, Zach Good and Jeff Condon combined for 14 saves on 32 shots.

Richmond 2, Greenville 1

At Greenville, the Bobcats scored two first-half goals and then held on to knock the Lakers from the ranks of the unbeaten.

Zach Brown scored off an assist from Jason Gray and Eric Scribellito scored what proved to be the game winner for 6-3 Richmond. Steve Wullaert made 12 saves on 20 shots.

Tyler Muzzy scored a goal and Gregory Aucoin stopped six of 13 shots for 11-1-2 Greenville.

Penquis 1, Dexter 0

At Milo, Steve Kissell’s goal with 10 minutes remaining in the first half turned out to be the game’s only goal as the Patriots nipped the Tigers.

Kissell’s goal was set up by Justin Allen who threaded a pass between two defenders to Kissell who deposited the ball in the lower right corner of the goal. Mike Grindle saved nine of 14 shots for 8-4-2 Penquis.

Brian Hersey stopped 15 of 21 shots for 6-7-1 Dexter.

Georges Valley 2, Carrabec 0

At North Anson, Travis Magnusson scored both goals to lead the 12-2 Buccaneers.

Brian Frankland stopped six of six shots for Georges Valley of Thomaston.

John Chretien made 12 saves on 14 shots for the 7-5-2 Cobras.

BC Patriots 7, DI-Stonington 1

At Bangor, Matt Conley scored three goals and added an assist to power the Patriots to the win.

Kliton Xhemali added a goal and four assists for 8-4-1 Bangor Christian. Ben Sobey chipped in with two goals and Chase Ossinger scored another. D.J. McCleary made six saves on 10 shots.

Evan Haskell put in an unassisted goal for the 6-6-2 Mariners. Ben Gray stopped eight of 25 shots.

John Bapst 3, MDI 1

At Mount Desert, Brian Snyder, Taylor Lynn and Zev Myerowitz all had unassisted goals to give 12-2 John Bapst of Bangor the win.

Bill Chapman made 5 saves on 10 shots for the Crusaders.

Brandon Colbeth scored unassisted for 7-5-2 MDI while Adam Thurston stopped 7 of 12 shots.

Hermon 1, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Brandon Robinson scored the winning goal for 8-5-1 Hermon with an assist from Joey Schacht.

Matt Watson stopped 13 of the 13 shots he faced.

Tyler Tracewski made 11 saves on 12 shots for 3-10-1 Old Town.

Central 2, Stearns 1

At Millinocket, Jenny Rollins scored the winning goal, unassisted, for 8-3-2 Central of Corinth.

Heather Lyford also had an unassisted goal while Jess Kalem made six saves on 12 shots.

Holly Frank scored unassisted for 6-5-2 Stearns while Becca Saucier made eight saves on nine shots.

Belfast 2, Waterville 0

At Belfast, Anne Berry scored an unassisted goal, helping lead 14-0 Belfast to the win.

Jen Jackson scored with an assist from Morgan Crandall while Tash Scott stopped four of four shots.

Katie Beeh made 15 saves on 17 shots for 5-8 Waterville.

Bangor 2, Hermon 1

At Bangor, Ashley Emerson scored the winning goal, unassisted, for 6-7 Bangor.

Jessye Hand scored with an assist from Kate Baldacci while Allison Frazier and Frankee Waldron combined for 12 saves on 17 shots.

Jessie Rowe scored with an assist from Alayna White while Natalie Bell stopped four of 11 shots.

Hampden 2, Brewer 0

At Hampden, Sarah Peters scored an unassisted goal to help give the 8-5 Broncos the win.

Christie Mosley scored with an assist from Whitney Brydon while Jen Hessert stopped 13 of 13 shots.

Jonie Norjean made 15 saves on 23 shots for 1-12 Brewer.
