CALAIS – A dance to benefit City Manager Nicholas Mull is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Calais American Legion Hall. The event is sponsored by the Calais Fire Association.

In July, the 49-year-old city manager suffered a stroke. He was treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, but has since returned home.

Shortly after Mull’s stroke, city employees offered to donate their sick days to the city manager, but the Calais City Council voted in July to extend Mull’s vacation pay from two to five weeks.

Mayor Eric Hinson said Thursday that Mull was doing well and is expected to be back to work by the end of the year.

Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the Fire Department, City Building or at the American Legion.

Disc jockey Ed Moreside will provide the music.
