WATERVILLE – Thomas College scored the game’s first four goals en route to a 4-2 men’s soccer victory over Maine Maritime Academy on Thursday.
Lucas Levesque, C.J. McKenna, Chris Inzerillo, and Bill Printup each scored goals for the 5-7 Terriers. Ben Wheeler, Rick Kelley, and Jason Laing each added an assist, and Ryan Conley made nine saves on 16 shots.
Wels Baker scored both goals for 2-8 MMA of Castine, one unassisted and one off a Chad McDuffie assist. Chad Flagg made three saves on nine shots.
Husson 2, Unity 2 (2OT)
At Unity, each team scored on its own net once, as the Braves and Rams battled to the tie.
Dave Richards was credited with both goals for Husson.
Jesse Hamilton had a goal and an assist for Unity. Andy Brower scored the equalizer on a penalty kick with 15 seconds left.
Bowdoin 4, So. Maine 1
At Brunswick, David Bulow notched two goals plus an assist as the Polar Bears rolled.
Bobby Desilets had a goal and an assist for 6-3-1 Bowdoin. Buddy Jencks added a goal, and Dan Hills stopped 10 shots.
Ian Frank provided the 2-12-1 Huskies’ goal. Tom Davis and Travis Derr stopped one shot each.
Women’s soccer
Bowdoin 2, U-New England 0
At Biddeford, Christina Woodward and Cedar Goldman provided the goals as the Polar Bears improved to 7-3-1.
Michal Shapiro and Hillary Smith had an assist each for Bowdoin. Emily Rizza only had to record one save.
Jayne Trakleson stopped three shots for the 6-6 Nor’easters.
USM 2, UM-Farmington 1
At Gorham, Jen Young and Amanda Loomis provided second-half goals as the Huskies rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit.
Erin Garland had an assist for the 6-7 winners, and Rachel Kwantz made one save on five shots.
Richelle Dube provided the goal for the 9-3 Beavers. Alyson Pontbriand stopped three of 12 shots.
Field hockey
St. Joseph’s 3, Thomas 2 (OT)
At Standish, Tara Gagnon scored the game-winner off a pass from Amanda Thompson.
Dawn Clawson scored both goals in regulation and Gagnon had both assists for the 4-6 Monks. Lauren Lombardi saved five of seven shots.
Alesia Dalton and Meredith Arute scored for the 5-4 Terriers of Waterville. Dawn Holland added an assist. Dee Kelly saved six of nine shots.
