DANFORTH – Amanda Godley’s goal at the 2:58 mark of overtime lifted the East Grand Vikings past the Shead Tigers 3-2 in schoolgirl soccer action during a Class D divisional quarterfinal Friday.
Godley dribbled around two defenders and fired in a goal to lead No. 3 East Grand by No. 6 Shead of Eastport.
Marie Gilman set up the play by stealing the ball at midfield, dribbling up the right sideline and passing to Godley.
Godley also had the goal that tied the game, scoring as time ran out in the first half.
Gilman notched the Vikings’ first goal on a pass from Tabitha Osnoe. Goalie Paula Osnoe made nine saves on 11 shots as East Grand improved its mark to 2-4-3.
Samantha Davis logged both goals for 6-9-0 Shead. Valerie Bowen added an assist and goalie Roliza DeWitt registered eight saves on 12 shots.
Class B
Old Town 3, Foxcroft 0
At Old Town, Hannah Marquis racked up a goal and an assist and goalie Whitney Carey earned her 10th shut out of the year as the top-ranked Indians downed the No. 8 Ponies.
Megan King and Mallory Brown contributed to the cause with a goal each and Heather Surette logged an assist. Carey recorded four saves on six shots as Old Town improved to 8-1-6.
For 2-11-2 Foxcroft, Darcy McCormick and Kate Walsh combined for 10 saves on 26 shots.
Class C
Calais 1, Central 0
At Corinth, Morgan Drew socked an unassisted goal with 30:48 left to play in the second half as the No. 2 Blue Devils tipped No. 7 Central.
Katie Welch stopped all 11 shots she faced as Calais improved to 8-4-1.
Nicole Daniel recorded 26 saves on 27 shots as Central finished at 1-12-2.
Boys soccer
Class A
Waterville 6, Brewer 0
At Waterville, Taylor Merke-Wynne and Joe Spofford netted two goals apiece as top-seeded Waterville cruised by No. 8 Brewer.
John Tuthill and Brecon Haworth both contributed a goal for the 13-1-1 Purple Panthers. Stephen Nale notched three saves on five shots.
Michael King stopped 12 of 24 shots for the 7-8-1 Witches.
Class B
Foxcroft 2, Hermon 0
At Dover-Foxcroft, goalie Matt Hackett stifled all seven shots fired his way and earned his fourth straight shutout as the No. 4 Ponies stopped the No. 5 Hawks.
Corey Beaulieu headed in a corner kick from Pat Lizotte and Manuel Blanc converted a Josh Chase pass for 11-4-0 Foxcroft.
For 8-6-1 Hermon, Matt Watson stopped nine of 13 shots.
Rockland 4, Winslow 3 (OT)
At Winslow, Parker Totil’s score with 3:42 remaining in the first overtime lifted No. 7 Rockland over No. 2 Winslow.
Totil finished with a hat trick. His second goal with 3:46 in regulation sent the game into overtime. Adam Ross notched the Tigers’ other score on a pass from Nick Rawcliffe. Justin Widdecomb made eight saves on 22 shots as Rockland improved to 4-11-0.
Taylor Helberg paced the 10-2-3 Black Raiders with a goal and an assist. Chris Labrie and Derek Gorneau added goals while Eric Willette and Andy Reynolds contributed assists. Evan Walters turned away eight of 15 shots.
Class C
Dexter 2, Searsport 1
At Dexter, Mitchell Sawyer’s unassisted goal with two minutes gone in the second half was the difference as the No. 3 Tigers triumphed over the No. 6 Vikings.
Searsport struck first when Pasco Grove booted an unassisted score 1:30 into the contest. The Tigers knotted the match when Sawyer fed Jeremy Kenney for a score with 16:17 remaining in the first half.
Brian Hersey logged 13 saves on 19 shots for 7-7-1 Dexter. Jacob Manner stopped 10 of 18 shots for 6-6-2 Searsport.
George Stevens 3, Narraguagus 1
At Blue Hill, Mark Clapp booted home two goals to lift top-ranked George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill over eighth-seeded Narraguagus of Harrington.
Hans Reuter chipped in with a goal and Ethan Roberts added two assists. James Friend made two saves on three shots for the 10-5-0 Eagles.
For 4-10-1 Narraguagus, Eric Peltier scored on a pass from Mike Beal. Peltier and Josh Look shared duties in goal, stopping nine of 18 shots.
Central 4, Calais 1
At Corinth, Joe Allen posted a pair of goals and Seth Strout added a goal and two assists as No. 5 Central topped No. 4 Calais.
Chris Parker contributed a goal and Matt Libby had an assist for the 6-7-2 Red Devils. Paul Laking recorded 21 saves on 26 shots.
For the 9-4-1 Blue Devils, Scott MacDonald scored on a pass from James MacDonald. Nathan Pelletier turned back 18 of 29 Central attempts.
Winthrop 2, Carrabec 1
At North Anson, Ian McCarthy’s two first-half goals propelled No. 6 Winthrop to the upset over No. 3 Carrabec.
McCarthy scored on a pass from Brett Hendlemay 50 seconds into the game. His second goal was unassisted with 11:16 remaining in the half. Joel Weisburger made 13 saves on 15 shots for the 5-8-2 Ramblers.
Wes Jordan converted a Ed Yahn pass for Carrabec’s lone goal. John Chretien made eight saves on 10 shots for the 7-6-2 Cobras.
