BELFAST – Junior Jeff Parenteau churned out 157 yards on eight carries and surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season as Belfast topped Mount Desert Island 61-14 in high school football action Friday night.

Parenteau now has 1,050 yards. He scored a pair of touchdowns on 52- and 56-yard runs. Colby Horne recorded touchdowns on a 16-yard run and on a 46-yard pass from quarterback Ben Cowan.

Cowan completed both of his pass attempts for 105 yards and two touchdowns as the Lions upped their mark to 6-1.

At Millinocket, sophomore quarterback Derek DiFrederico carried the ball six times for 92 yards and a 52-yard score, intercepted a pass and returned it 52 yards for a another touchdown and completed three of eight passes for 58 more yards as the Minutemen rolled.

Ryan Sweeney added 87 yards on 15 carries, scored on TD runs of 43 and 7 yards and intercepted another pass for Stearns. Matt Wark got Stearns on the board with an 85-yard first-quarter punt return. Kevin McLaughlin also intercepted a pass.

Pat Healy piled up 101 yards on 14 carries and scored twice to lead John Bapst of Bangor. Ryan Carey made three catches for 44 yards.

At Bucksport, quarterback Chris McHale went 5-for-11 for 74 yards, passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two touchdowns as Bucksport rolled to the win.

The Golden Bucks defense held the Lynx to just 55 total yards. Kyle Milan amassed 12 tackles and Chris Atherton-Dow added six tackles and two sacks. Chris Woodman and Rustin Ames contributed to the offense with 63 and 61 rushing yards, respectively.

At Winslow, the Black Raiders scored as time expired in the first half to cut its deficit to 20-12, then broke a 20-20 tie by scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter.

The Black Raiders completed two Chris Langlais-to-Sam Hapworth passes in the momentum-turning first-half drive after inheriting the ball with only 18 seconds left in the half. Hapworth scored on a 15-yard catch as time expired.

Ricky Vigue rushed for 156 yards on 22 carries and scored four touchdowns for the Black Raiders.

Brian Groshon had 87 yards and two scores on 21 carries for Hampden. Joe Bryant made 12 tackles and Casey Bearor added 10 stops for the Broncos.

Dexter 22, Orono 20

At Orono, the Red Riots rushed out to a 20-0 lead before the Tigers roared back for the win.

Adam Russell ran for touchdowns of 15 and 48 yards for Dexter and kicked two extra points.

Kevin Armstrong added a 10-yard TD run in the fourth quarter that gave the Tigers the win. Russell and Armstrong each amassed more than 100 rushing yards.

Ben Briggs scored on a 73-yard run on the first play of the game and finished with 102 yards on 14 carries for the Red Riots. Ryan Levesque added 82 yards on nine carries and a 10-yard TD while Lance Cowan added 67 yards on six carries, including a 52-yard score.

The game was delayed for 45 minutes after a fire in a breaker box at the field.
