MILLINOCKET – Police responded Friday night to a complaint of a man with a knife who was heading for a Knox Street home.

As Detective Rick Leavitt and Officer Robert Johansen arrived at the home, they said, the man was trying to get in through the door and was threatening the people inside with the knife.

Roland Noel, 20, of Millinocket was arrested and charged with criminal threatening.

Police said he had just left his Aroostook Avenue apartment where an assault on his girlfriend prompted police to charge him with domestic assault. Johansen said Noel was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and bail was set at $1,000 cash.

The officer said Noel, who is scheduled to appear in the Millinocket District Court on Nov. 7, remained at the jail Sunday.
