FARMINGTON – Megan Woodcock and Richelle Dube each scored three goals to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to an 11-0 women’s soccer victory over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners Monday.
Erin Conant scored two goals while Shannon Mailhot and Addie Price each added a goal for the 11-3 Beavers. Sarah Wishart, Lindsay Tatarczuk and Erin Findlan each recorded an assist while Alyson Pontbriand and Dawn Robertson combined for the shutout.
Heather Jackson made nine saves for 0-10 Maine Maritime Academy.
Men’s soccer
Endicott 3, U-New England 0
At Biddeford, Tim Hurley led 7-8 Endicott of Beverly, Mass., with a goal and an assist.
Jared Monaco and Josh Pierson each added goals and Mitch Donar made seven saves.
Nate Montminy stopped 10 shots for the 0-12 Nor’Easters.
Volleyball
Maine defeats Drexel
At Orono Saturday, sophomore middle blocker Claire Poliquin racked up 26 skills and amassed a .423 hitting percentage to lead Maine to a 30-19, 28-30, 31-29, 30-24 volleyball victory over Drexel of Philadelphia.
Cheryl Elliott contributed 58 assists and 14 digs, Adrienne Poplawski logged 18 kills and 10 digs and Carmen Gabriel added 11 kills and 13 digs as the Black Bears improved to 8-8.
Angela Tassone paced the 8-11 Dragons with 31 kills and 13 digs. Gina Campanile notched 14 digs and 49 assists.
Towson tops Maine
At Orono Sunday, Andrea LeBlanc registered 50 assists, 14 digs and 10 kills as America East leader Towson (Md.) topped Maine 30-20, 30-24, 28-30, 30-22.
Melanie Madden logged 20 kills, Liz Goubeaux had 18 kills and Jordann Tomasek slammed 13 kills as the Tigers ran their mark to 19-1.
For 8-9 Maine, Adrienne Poplawski turned in a 13-kill, nine-block assist performance. Randi Olin added 10 kills, Alaina Kleparek scooped out 10 digs and Carmen Gabriel recorded nine kills, nine digs and nine block assists. Cheryl Elliot came on with 42 assists and six block assists while Claire Poliquin chipped in with nine kills and six block assists.
